The first publication of the Sindh Bureau of Statistics (BOS) on the statistics of mineral mining and quarrying in Sindh is titled “Sindh Minerals Statistics, 2020–21”. It includes statistics on individual minerals, district-level mineral profiles, and monthly production data for minerals in Sindh. The estimation of mineral value indices at the base years of 2015–16 is the key component of this publication. In total, 20 minerals are mined and quarried across the 9 districts of Sindh.
The Mines & Minerals Development Department and The Directorate of Coal Mines Development provide complete information on mineral extraction, leases, and royalty schedules. The Sindh Bureau of Statistics is very appreciative of the assistance and services provided by these departments in the delivery of statistics.
